We are proud to announce the conclusion of the ETA (Electrical Testing Area) project for IMATEQ Italia Srl, a company based in Rivalta Scrivia (AL) specialised in the maintenance of rolling stock belonging to the historical German manufacturer Vossloh Rolling Stock GmbH.
Thanks to ETA, it will be possible to conduct 3kV DC and 1.5kV DC static tests on electric locomotives through a rigid folding catenary approximately 25 metres long, thus avoiding the need to move locomotives on public infrastructure.
This solution will reduce maintenance costs and lead times!
The ETA project: a great success for Start Power.
The project, completed within the agreed time targets, was very demanding and challenging, but a great success for the entire team involved.
The ETA system provides a maximum power output of approximately 500 kW and is powered by the 400 Vac 50 Hz mains. The output voltage can be adjusted from 1000-2000 Vdc and 2000-4000 Vdc as well as the current values can be set up to 240A or 120A.
The project involved several stages, from the installation of the catenary support towers, through the completion of the electrical connection to the network, installation of the overhead crane safety management system, installation of the catenary support columns, to the completion of the switchboard.
At the beginning of September, the final test with an electric locomotive was carried out. The ETA is now operational and ready to welcome IMATEQ's customers!
A special thanks goes to all IMATEQ's technical staff who put their great professionalism into the project, and to the other companies who participated in the project, under the supervision of IMATEQ Italy Manager, Valerio Pallomo.
